An Embassy Legalization process is required when the destination country is a non-member country of the Apostille Section of the Hague Convention.

Numerous countries have already joined this treaty where the legalization of documents is simplified through the Apostille, but others haven’t joined yet so they still have to legalize their documents through the Embassies.

Some of the countries that haven’t joined the Apostille section of the Hague Convention are the Canada, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Egypt, Thailand, Taiwan and China.
