A Comprehensive Guide to Obtaining a Florida Apostille for Your Documents

If you need to use your Florida documents in a foreign country, you may be required to obtain an apostille. An apostille is a certification that validates the authenticity of a document. In Florida, you can obtain an apostille through Documents International, LLC. Here are the steps to follow:

1. Determine if your document is eligible for an apostille

    • Florida apostilles are only issued for public documents that have been issued in Florida by a Florida public official or certified by a Florida notary public.

Examples of eligible documents include birth certificates, marriage certificates, divorce decrees, and notarized documents.

  • Obtain a certified copy of your document
    • If you do not have a certified copy of your document, you will need to obtain one before you can obtain an apostille.

You can obtain a certified copy of your document from the issuing agency or county clerk’s office.
